Kevin Michals is the CEO and Managing Partner of Genesis Properties, LLC. He has over 20 years’ experience in investments and capital placement. Mr. Michals was the Founder and CEO of Cross Properties where he built and led a team of 50 professionals to invest over $500 million into apartment and student housing assets from 2010 to 2022. Further, Mr. Michals has been closely involved in real estate transactions that span millions of square feet, valued at over $1 billion across all asset classes. His experience includes fund raising, acquisitions, structuring financing (debt and equity), tax credits, leasing and property management.
He graduated cum laude with a degree in accounting from the University of Illinois-Champaign Urbana.
Dan Spitzen is the EVP and Co-Founder of Genesis Properties, LLC Mr. Spitzen has spent his entire career of over 25 years in finance, acquisitions and development roles in both the corporate and real estate sectors. Mr. Spitzen started his career in investment banking, he then moved to the buy side by joining a private equity fund where he focused on structuring acquisitions of businesses across various manufacturing and service industries. Mr. Spitzen then transitioned into real estate acquisition and development, where he has focused his efforts exclusively for the past 18 years. During this time, Mr. Spitzen has managed over 20 transactions with a total capitalization of $500 million.
Mr. Spitzen graduated magna-cum laude with a degree in Economics from Hamilton College where he played football for four years and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
Jerry Gallagher graduated from the University of Florida in 1977 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Building Construction. In his 45 years of experience, Jerry has completed over 40 million square feet of construction projects on time and under budget. Jerry’s construction management experience includes a wide variety of projects, including health care, office flex space, commercial office space, large box retail, and large warehouses.
During his tenure with Cross Properties, Jerry has been intimately involved in the development, construction, and management of luxury condominiums, apartment, retail, and office projects. Jerry’s extensive experience in successfully managing challenging construction projects and driving them to completion makes him an invaluable asset to the development team.
